If this question is off-topic, I apologize. This is my second time on the
list.

I have a login servlet that creates an html login page, and then downloads
an applet if the login is successful. I have a different servlet that talks
to the applet once it is loaded.

Is there anyway to "pre-fetch" the applet while the user is typing in the
login page? If so, then can the applet be "disabled" if the login is
rejected, or enabled if the login is successful? My goal is to reduce the
amount of time the user has to wait for the applet by hiding some of the
applet download time during the login process.

Thanks
