Hi Pat,

i had the same problem. It is a bug in Win 95, which is described in the
FAQ at http://www.sun.com/software/jwebserver/faq/faq.html

Here is the part of the FAQ which covers this problem:

15.I'm having problems connecting to Java Web Server and/or logging
into the Administration tool on Windows95. What's the problem?

You need to have Microsoft Windows Sockets 2 Update (winsock2) installed on
your Windows95 PC. If your PC is standalone (not networked) it probably
does not
have this installed. See the Microsoft site for information about
downloading and
installing winsock2. Note: This update is needed for Windows95 only. Windows98
and WindowsNT already include the fixes contained in the winsock2 update.
