Note that JAWS while free (no cost) is binaries only (no sources).
Given the number of open source web servers with servlet support,
this makes JAWS a lot less interesting. Any relatively new piece
of software is likely to contain bugs, or at least odd behaviors.
With open source software it is possible to read the sources and
to understand (and even fix) the problem.
