Cyril, if I understand your code well, you make some
text scroll in the statusbar of the browser.
Alex, is this really what you asked? I thougt you wanted
to make a txt-file scroll in the browser-window.
Please rephrase your question, so that we can give you
the answer you need.
Another possibility:
You have a txt file with data that is sorted alfabetically.
You want the user to click on a letter and then scroll
automatically to the first line in the text that begins
with this letter.
The best way to do this, is to use HTML with some A-tags,
instead of plain text. But you could also put every line
of your txt-file in a SELECT-box and change the SELECTEDINDEX
when a user clicks on a letter. This will make the text
scroll in the SELECT-box.
If this is what you want, send me a little mail and I
will mail you an example. Don't ask anymore about it
on this list, because it hasn't anything to do with servlets
anymore.
