I know that some JDKs require certain level of the kernel specifically when
implementing native threads.
Could that be the case?
I know JDK 1.1 and above require at least Kernel 2.1+

Subject: JDK1.2.1 fo Linux
One question: where can I get JDK1.2.1 for Linux (S.u.S.E 6.0)?
Intel/Solaris version downloaded from java.sun.com doesn't work on my Linux in
any configuration...
