Hi, Erik...

Please clarify a "somewhat casual work environment" and do you support telecommuting?

[I sent this last week but it didn't seem to go through. My apologies if it
shows up twice.]

We are looking for a programmer for a 6-month contract helping out with our
servlet-based intranet. The position is in northern Rockville, Maryland,
which is about 15 minutes north of Washington DC. You must be able to work
40 hour weeks during regular work hours. We need a company to bill to, so
you must either work for a contracting company or be your own contracting
company.

The position *requires* the following:

- A good understanding of and real experience with object oriented
programming.

- Java experience. (If you have a lot of C++ experience and a little Java
experience, that is almost as good as having a lot of Java experience.)

- Servlets experience. (If you have a lot of CGI experience and a little
servlets experience, that is almost as good as having a lot of servlets
experience.)

The following would be very helpful:

- SQL experience.

- JDBC experience.

- HTML experience.

We offer:

- A work environment where at least some of the people have a clue.

- A new servlet-based intranet. Plenty of opportunity to work on and enhance
the framework we are writing.

- A somewhat casual work environment.

- Somewhat flexible work hours (you can come in after rush hour, for
example).

If you have any questions, or have any interest, please respond via email. A
resume or something outlining your experience would be very useful.

Thanks,
Erik
