We have been using WebSphere with JSP and servlets and so far everything has been very
good. There is one gotcha however. The PTF process for for WebSphere in V4R3 or
V4R4, adds some changes to your properties files. Then it creates backup copies of
your properties files that had your changes but the new files do not have your
changes. For example jvm.properties file has your classpath defined in the property
ncf.jvm.classpath. That property will have some new additions but your changes will be
in the file jvm.properties.bak. That's just one example. Servlet logging is set to
false is another.

This was not a real big problem because they made backup copies. It's just one of
those tasks that you have to remember to do. All other WebSphere experiences have
been pleasant.
