I've been encouraged by the performance of IBM's 1.1.6 JVM under Linux -- much
faster than Blackdown 1.1.7B on the same hardware; no doubt due in large part
to the JIT compiler and native threads support (I'm running on an SMP box).
Not enough long term experience to judge it's reliability, but initial signs
are favorable.
According to IBM's benchmarks (lies, damned lies, and benchmarks :-), their JVM
runs slightly faster on Linux than on NT on the same hardware.
