This is more complicated than you might think. In general you can
only pass requests about, not responses, which is more what you want
to do.

In general the most often given answer on the list to this sort of
question is: can you do it another way?
Why are you getting 2 servlets to talk to each other? it sounds more
like you need to have the code that is is DataServlet and deals with
the database available to AppServlet.
Servlets are not really designed to be components in the way you're
trying to use them, that's why you're finding it tricky.
Remodel your classes and all will be well.
