I have done a full fonctionning e-commerce app in ASP, not java, but still
server-side.
My thought is that the only technology really needed is server-side, no need
for javascript and such. It might be easier to write but we all know how it
feels to get a javascript error when stumbling on a web page.
I've not used servlets for e-commerce, but my guess is that servlets are
more than sufficient to build something nice.

Regards, Arnaud "i don't know everything" D.
