I suggest you try the Web Developers Virtual Library.  It doesn't go into great depth, 
but it'll get you started;

The articles on XML/XSL there will probably tell you to go grab a parser.  I don't 
remember the ones that they suggest, but I built a renderer (XML+XSL to whatever) 
using the IBM4J parser as a base.  Try sniffing around here, I'm sure you'll find it;
