This is really easy to accomplish if we ignore HTTP authentication, isn't it?
I mean, just putting user info in the session if they're authenticated, and
removing it to "log them out".
Is the reason so that the auth info can be additionally used with the web
server in granting access to directories? I'd want to give that up, if
possibile...
