I think you are writing a server side include.
As there is an applet tag ,similarly there is a servlet tag
it is as follows
<SERVLET CODE = ServletName CODEBASE =url
initparam1 = initvalue1
<PARAM NAME = param1 VALUE = value1>
</SERVLET>
Here url is the actual location of your servlet
and you can pass initilization parameters and the remaining parameters as name
value pairs as you did in CGI
I think it is sufficient for you
