Good Morning All:

We've recently released the 1.01 release of Expresso to our site at
http://www.javacorporate.com for
download.

Exresso is a library of Java components designed to make development of
sophisticated web applications using servlets & JSP's faster and easier.

It provides authentication/security services for both data and methods, job
queueing and handling, logging, advanced database connection pooling,
relational to object mapping (generate objects from the database or
vice-versa), import and export of data, e-mail notifications to specified
groups of users when defined server-side events occurr, and a number of
other functions.

There are a number of significant enhancements to this release over the
previous version, including enhanced support for JSP development via the new
"Transaction" package, which allows encapsulation of business logic in a
"finite-state" model. This package is ideal for integration with session
EJB's as well, although it does not require it. Servlet, JSP and Applet
user-interfaces can be used interchangably now.

Our thanks go out to the many people who've helped make this new release
everything it is, and look forward to continuing to host the development of
the library.

There's also a new Guided Tour for Expresso that shows the new facilities on
the site.

Expresso is always undergoing improvments, and the latest changes are
discussed on our mailing list at
http://www.javacorporate.com/mailman/listinfo/opensource.

I hope the members of the servlet list find some useful pieces in Expresso
to speed along their servlet & site development.
