Sun have now announced Tomcat 3.0 general
availability on their website. There are
> two questions that I have been wondering about:
>
> Can Tomcat work with SSL, either stand-alone
> or plugged in to Apache?
>
> The Tomcat documentation describes it as a
> "reference servlet implementation", however
> the relationship with Apache makes Tomcat
> sound like a "production" servlet container.
> Is Tomcat 3.0 suitable for production?
>
> I am currently working in a Netscape 3.6+WebSphere 1.1
> environment and am frustrated by the documentation,
> configurability, and robustness of the environment.
> I am looking for a Plan B for a specific project that
> needs to go live in a few weeks. Is TomCat 3.0 ready?
