I have same problem when web-server/servlet and Oracle database are two different servers. I glad you solve it. Could you send a snippet of your code.
Thanks in advance

Subject: Re: Security Problem in JDBC connectivity
Hi,
When I run my Servlet using Servletrunner and try to access Oracle(using Thin Drivers) in another System I get SQLException Error: The Network Adapter cannot establish the connection is coming. But I am able to establish connection as a standalone appln. So thankful if U clear this doubt.
Ravi
