In my previous post on this thread, I said that doing a flush()
on the ServletOutputStream is not guaranteed to do a flush on
the underlying socket connection to the client. After a quick
review of the spec, I think I may have been incorrect. I should
have just said "it may or may not help with your problem, try
it and see" and stopped there.
