Hello David,
IceWaves.com uses combination of HTML and applets for the following
reasons, for example::
ice1: our clients require(customer is king) combination of HTML and java
ice2: speed; our clients can not afford to wait for "java starting" in certain
situations
ice3: in some cases java applet is better, in some cases HTML/WML does it
ice4: clients like having choices; HTML can offers hint whether java applet
will be worth waiting; clients hate having to wait 10 minutes just to
find out
this was not the contents they wanted
ice5: many clients have multilingual text contents they want to keep in html
ice6: mobile clients require WAP/WML GUI
ice7: compability; clients may want to keep existing html pages and contents
ice8: contents; customers want to use their photos; we have developed java
applets which can show their photos in 3D as well as in HTML pages
So at this very moment IceWaves.com believes (and our clients) to combination
of HTML/WML and java applets.
