I suggest Oracle 8i as DBMS, it has support for Java, especially for Java
Stored Procedures (a new big stuff !!!).
Regarding Web server and servlet engine, I currently use those you are
talking about, but my suggestion is to use a commercial solution (not a free
one), maybe an application server (BEA Weblogic or OAS)...
And if you're talking about Intranet, I can't understand why aren't you
trying to use applets. Maybe with same Html and JavaScript, but applets
offer more than those two...
