JavaOne 2000 is June 6-9, in SFO, at the Moscone Center. This is the
5th anniversary year and I've heard that registration is ahead of
schedule, so I expect we will be filling up Moscone (the new wing is not
yet ready). JavaOnes are always fun, and I hope this year will not be
different.
There are a number of talks and BOFs related to JSPs and Servlets, some
from the Java Platform Group at Sun but many from other members in the
Java community. The URL to the main site is:

We will create a page at our web site pointing to all the JSP/Servlet
talks to make it easier for people to locate them all.
In the meantime, there are serveral oportunities under our control for
exposure of "good things" around the JSP and Servlet communities. We
will have at least:
1- a BOF on vendor support; similar to the one we had last year.
For those of you who were not around last year, we did a round for all
the vendors first, 1 slide per vendor describing their products, and
then a Q&A session. It worked pretty well last year, we had the room
totally completely full, and I would tend to do the same this year. I
will try to reduce a bit the marketting ("we are the greatest") part
from the vendors, but the information is timely and very relevant.
2- a BOF on case studies of using JSPs and Servlets.
This one is new. I think we will do something like an architectural
picture of how the site is put together, what technologies are used, and
what lessons were gained. We can do a Q&A.
3- a BOF on tag libraries.
This one is still being finalized. It can either be a tutorial on how
to write tag libraries, or it can be based on specific examples; at this
point it is beginning to look like we may end up having enough examples
to do the second approach and there is another BOF (by Kevin @
DevelopMentor) that seems to already cover the tutorial part.
