I am building an application which will eventually 'talk' to our mainframe
system. What I will need to do is present a form to collect the student's
ID. Then pass that on to the class which connects to the MF and sends data
back. If valid ID then get the PIN from student and pass that to MF for
validation and back to Servlet again. The mainframe communication parts
works well and I have used Servlets that do basically one-way inquiries.
But, now I need to get data and validate it on the MF and handle it all
within the one Servlet. This is where I am stuck.

I have been building a test model and just keep calling the Servlet using
the generated forms with increasing depth levels. I keep getting
NullPointerErrors and others.

The mainframe aside, this is a general question of how to handle calling the
same Servlet over and over again and getting deeper into the logic contained
within. Am suggestions are appreciated. An off-list discussion would be
great if anyone is willing.

Thanks
