I think u can use GET method when calling your servlet from your applet.
ex. :
java.net.URL url = new
java.net.URL("http://"+hostname+":8080/servlet/dbawmrcservlet_7?a=1&b=2");
getAppletContext().showDocument(url,"_blank");
