A couple of things for you to look at are just common sense, but I'll toss
them out there just in case. If somebody else has encountered this
specifically, please follow up.
First, any process using ports < 1024 need to be running as root. You may
have to switch what account is running your server.
Second, Tomcat and Apache both serve HTTP out of the box. I think that
Tomcat runs on port 8080 by default, and Apache may too, but my Apache
server is configured for port 80. You didn't make clear which is running on
which ports, but make sure that the doc directory that the servlet resides
in is the one for the proper server on that port.
