Hi there,

I am going to publish a Linux (SuSE 6.4) web server in an internet. In order
to do that, I've got a IP address from an ISP already. But I do not have
domain for my web server. In this web server, I would like to install Apache
and Java test servlets. And 'sendmail' as well.

My first question is, is there a way to tell to my web server an alias name
of this IP address? Or do I have to register in NIC or others?
....
Does it matter what I give a name to this Linux server?
....
Is it possible to install the SAMBA as a DNS service and Apache as a web
server in one Linux computer? (Apache runs only in Standalone server!?) Do I
have to have a DNS at all?
....

I would like to know that how would you do if you're starting and
configurating a complete new web server?
....

When it works, I would have more questions about Java stuff.

Many thanks to those who are reviewing this.
