Hi,
I am experiencing problems with JDBC-Oracle connection. As drivers shiped
with Oracle 8.1.5 don't support jdk1.2.x I hv downloaded drivers from
http://technet.oracle.com. I am still experiencing the
"ClassNotFoundException". I am confused about how to install the drivers.
Where should the drivers reside? In the web server(where servlet runs) or
Oracle server?. I tried with OCI driver as well. Do I copy "ocijdbc8.dll" to
[Oracle-home]/lib? OCI driver did not work either. I have set the classpath
variable to
[Oracle-Home]/jdbc/lib/classes12.zip.
Any help?

do not use classes111.zip, it will not work right for jdk1.2.2
go to http://technet.oracle.com
get the drivers that work with jdk1.2 (the 8.1.6 drivers)
download the samples, look at those, read the Makefile/.bat files to build
and run these.
