Hi List,

This is my first message to this discussion list, and I would like to know
if the following is possible with Servlets Technology. I am sure every
client/server developer dreamed about this someday.

I would like to make a Socket connection via HTTP protocol (port 80) so I
can avoid all proxy and firewall annoyances. No more SOCKS4, no more SOCKS5,
no more NAT, etc.

Can I somehow get a Socket object from HTTPServletRequest, so I can pass to
my thread and let it take care of my client/server program ???

Thanks for help list. I am very excited about this possibility.
