I use the JDE (emacs java IDE) for all my development. It comes with
a pretty good debugger that can attach to running processes.
I also use GNU-Paperclips for my development - it has some neat
features that make using a debugger unnecessary a lot of the time (it
can log request/response headers easily).
Paperclips is not ready for big time yet... but we are working on a
2.3 compliant version over at:
