 What exactly do you mean by location? It seems like you're
aware that you can get an IP address. Mapping that IP address
to a physical location is not possible in general. Even worse,
the address returned by the servlet request object may be the
address of an intermediary like a proxy intead of the IP address
of the machine the user is on (The machine the user is on might
not even have a "real" address on the global internet)

 If you're willing to accept that you can't always do the mapping,

 I also seem to remember a servlet-interest thread about this
topic, but it was long enough ago that re-asking the question
seems reasonable.

 Or, if you didn't mean physical location, then never mind :-)
