Hi! Victor, Vivek is right abt not getting any msg from client if browser is closed. But if u want 2 do some cleanup of resources (for eg. temp files, connections etc) then it is best to keep track of user sessions using HttpSession from the servlet API. You can track inactivity and invalidate the session after say 30 mins. Or delete temp files after say 24 hours! Hoping that it solves the purpose that u wanted to know when the user closes her browser! Thanks & rgds, Ajay. ========================================= Vivek Singh <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: i dont think you will be able to get that message...because the one (process) who has to send the message (browser) is being killed. get me if i am wrong someone. v -----Original Message----- From: jj victor [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 25, 2000 5:36 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Hi, I want to do something(eg. to delete some items) in the servlet just before a browser is closed.
