Hello forum,

I find that my question about how to run servlets in tomcat has met with a
lot of heated discussions and some answers as well. While some people have
volunteered to be the policeman of the list and has taken up to themselves
to snub off the questions that THEY think are irrelevant, some have also
tried to uphold the free nature of the forum.

Some have also tried to answer my query. Thanks a ton.

But perhaps I could not make my question sufficiently clear.

I know how you run servlets in tomcat. However by following the proper steps
( best to my knowledge ) I have not been able to run servlets and hence this
mail.

I will once again write down the steps that I took.
1. Created a dir myjsp in webapps
2. Added the servletcontext in the default web.xml
3. Now all the html and the jsp in myjsp are running
4. I create WEB_INF/classes in myjsp
5. I write web.xml in WEB_INF and put the servlet.class file a perfectly
made servlet in the classes dir.
6. Now also I have not been able to run the servlets

So all I am asking is that whether there is any step missing. Can somebody
tell me what should be the contents of the web.xml of myjsp.

Thanks in advance.
All those who feel that this mail has wasted their precious time, please do
not add to my guilt by wasting more time in answering this mail.

brgds
partha.
