I know Tomcat is the reference release for a servlet container, and it's got
support from Sun, IBM, Apache,
blah blah blah. I've taken some servlet and JSP and tag library software
that I've been successfully running
under Allaire's JRun and tried to bring the software up under Tomcat, and
I'm rather frustrated. I expected
to find a few portability problems -- that was one purpose of the exercise,
in fact. What I didn't expect to
find was poor documentation and lots of broken software at the Tomcat web
site -- I can't get information
about existing bugs, for example, and I can't submit a new bug report. (The
3.1 release doesn't appear to
support the <description> tag under the <servlet> tag in web.xml.)

Does anyone have suggestions on where to look for answers to Tomcat problems
(other than this group, of course)?
