Good for you for checking the archives!
The separation between the responsibilities of the
web server and servlet container gets a little fuzzy
around the edges, so it's not suprising that the
answer wasn't obvious.
Sadly, you're in the wrong place. You should check
the documentation on whatever web server/servlet
container combination you are using, since the answer
is configuration-specific.
If you happen to be using Apache/Tomcat, you should
read the tomcat user guide. If you search around on:
<URL:http://jakarta.apache/org>
you should be able to find it. But again, that's
only if you happen to be using Apache/Tomcat.
