Try using System.err.println
Your messages will then be appended to the jserv.log file (Apacje Jserv)
or the servlet.log or tomcat.log file (Tomcat)

Hello All,
I want to display messages in the servlet side console whenever an
exception (or in case of successes in saving some information) etc
occurs. How do I accomplish this? I know that I can display messages in
the client side browser, but that is not what I want. I want to display
messages in the servlet side. Simple System.out.println is going
nowhere.

Thanks in advance for any help.
