I don't have solution for you, but I wanted to add that I too have
experienced some weird problems with Tomcat in Windows 2000. If I,
as a client repeatedly tries to reload a page, like by holding
CTRL + R in IE, Tomcat starts printing lots of exceptions in the
console window and eventually stops responding to requests. You have
to restart the server.
