I've attended several MSFT developer sessions re .NET. I said the J word on
several occasions -- Java and even J++.

The answer was -- J->JUMP which will convert J++ to C# which "generally"
conforms to Java syntax. And total silence on any other followon question.

MSFT's pitch is that their CLR can deal with anyone. And, given IBM's role
in .NET, and MSFT's clear "hands-off" policy on the J word -- my money would
be on IBM on the condition MSFT not be involved.

Subject: .NET Java Precompiler?

And now, I break from the JSDK vitriol....

I heard a rumor that one of the big firms may be developing (or has
developed)
this. Anyone know anything about it?

Cheers!
Mark
