Hi Stefan
I believe that what you are looking for is a repository ( it can be in
memeory or even persistent ) that will enable associative lookup on the
users data.
If this is you need I would suggest the use of JavaSpaces.
JavaSpaces is a service within the JINI framework (java.sun.com/JINI) that
provide this type of functionality.
It is quite simple to learn ( only 5 api's ) and to use and it can even
solve many otheres issues in your web environment such as:

1. How to share information between several web servers.
2. how to load balance between you services.
3. How to communicate beween your various thread groups.

I had listed in our web site www.j-spaces.com/tech.html other article that
you can refer to if you need more information.

Subject: usermanagement?

Hi all,
I hope that the right pleace to ask this question, when not then may be you

I want to build a stabile and strong Usermanagement. I have users,
usergroups, and roules that say what a usergroup is allowed...
What is the best way to handle all information insight a servlet? Is it a
good idea to gererate for every user a new object that handle all
information?
I'm afriad to controll everytime the permissions when I become a get...
Whitch technology can use to reduce the actions I have to do?
Someone have a link to more intressting stuuf to read about this problem?
