 Every message to this list is archived off to a
searchable database. That way, when people have
questions, they can check if the question has been
asked (and answered) before. In this case, your
question has been asked many times before. No
perfect answers yet, but if you search the archives,
you should be able to find out about the various
possible solutions. Try search terms like "xvfb" if
you get stuck...

 (One thing that may or may not be mentioned in the
archives is that the very newest beta version of
Java (j2sdk1.4) claims built-in headless support, so
this shouldn't be a problem in the future. But I
haven't tried it out personally...)
