I have the WROX "Professional Java" series and I think they're overly pedantic and not very useful. The book Patrick is referencing is "Java Servlet Programming" by Jason Hunter and I think the consensus around here is that it is the best single volume reference for servlets. Hall's "Core Java Servlets and JSP" is very good for JSP.
