I bought version 4.5.1 about two years ago for $2,500 (Yes the number is correct) for the Server Express version (this includes all JDBC drivers for almost every database except IBM's DB2 plus a nice connection pool. You do not need to use Apache or IIS but you can. The performance of their http sever is as good as, if not better than Apache and IIS.
I received a phone call from BEA about 3-months ago for an upgrade to there latest version for $600.00. I can tell you for certain that WebLogic Express is one of the most dependable and least frustrating servlet containers I have worked with. All of my questions were answered by their interest group. There telephone support sucks and so do their sales people when it comes to the little guy. But hey if you have Champagne taste on a beer budget go for it : - ) ... They might be a little hungry now with the slow economy so negotiate your price. Make sure you give yourself an important title when you contact them (do not put your title as a low-life, scum sucking, java programmer or the arrogent pigs may not respond)  :-)

Subject: Weblogic price

Does anyone know how much it costs for a minimum Weblogic Server for WinNt/2000 ? I asked Bea, they don't bother to answer. I also search in the Archived list and found no answer. I just want to learn more about weblogic and I don't want a trial version since it will expire after a certain period of time.

Thanks
