Objet : Static reference to bean classes in servlets generated by
servlet containers

Hi,

Looking at the generated servlet source code for a jsp page including a
bean, I remarked that it included a static reference to the class of that
bean. For example, if the tag was :

<jsp:useBean id='beanName' class='my.mackage.MyBean' scope='session'/>

the generated servlet would include the following declaration :

my.mackage.MyBean beanName;

After thinking about this for a while, I couldn't find any good reason to do
so. However, I know I must be missing something because the spec says you
can use :

<jsp:useBean id='beanName' class='my.mackage.MyBean'
type='my.mackage.MyClassOrInterface' scope='session'/>

and have the bean being cast to the indicated type. But I still can't see
the usefullness of this since you can always get this information
dynamically.

Any idea ?
