Hi,

We have a high-traffic servlet based web application running on NES3.6 and
JRun3.0 (HP-UX). We are in the process of fine tuning it with respect to
it's capacity (maximum users it can support) and performance. My doubts are
as follows.

1. If we use a web server which has a built-in servlet engine (like iPlanet)
instead of using both NES & JRun, does it improve the performance? If it
does, pls throw some light on what makes it more efficient.

2. Assuming that the application code is optimized for performance, what
changes can be done in the environment and configuration (of JRun and NES)
which will improve the capacity & performance? Does Allaire have any
document which talks about fine tuning JRun for performance?

Thanks in advance,
Suresh
