what type are you authentification are you using ?

    Hi ALL!
I need in your advice. Problem is in following. I've some webapp. When
user logins then it fill out name and password for authentification.
Presently this information sends to web server as usual data ( didn't
crypted ). I would like to protectet this data for security reasons. But
I don't know which standart methods exists for this purpose. Could
somebody give me some info for this subject or any web links.
