I may be trying to do something unnecessary. I am coming to JSP/Servlets from doing
WebObjects. A custom Session object is used to store attributes and such, a dictionary
is also available to do name/value storage, but it is common in our apps to just make
custom set/get methods around private vars for encapsulation. All of which are easily
referenced by casting the WOSession to Session.
I assume then, in JSP/Servlets it is customary to use an EJB that represents the
session or some other type of bean? With just the KEY to the EJB/Bean Session in the
URL/cookie in order to promote server independence for the running user session?
Thanks,
Peter Fournier
