Asunto: localhost:8080 "not found"

I am following the instructions for installing Tomcat, stand-alone, and cannot get past the localhost:8080 hurdle.

- Windows 2000
- Tomcat 4.0, most recent binary
- j2sdk 1.4.0

The instructions say "there are only really 3 things that can go wrong during the stand-alone Tomcat 4.0 install"  but none of the following appear to be my gremlin:
1. I do not have another web server on port 8080
2. I am not getting "out of environment space" error
3. I am not going through a proxy

Any of you expert-folk have any suggestions for me to try?

Thank you,

Frank
