Hello Vinay,
I don't think I have any other server
running. I was able to run tomcat without this error before I installed Apache
webserver but I was getting a different error. After installing Apache I am
getting this error.
I am starting tomcat first from the
bin directory using startup then starting Apache. Trying to access the JSP from
the Netscape browser.
I am getting errors as I mentioned below
and when I try to shutdown tomcat with shutdown command I get the error
mentioned below.
I think the port number for tomcat is
8007. IS this right?
Should I have Unix environment for
tomcat?
I am new to this(Servlet/JSP
Implementation using Tomact and Apache) so if you pleae help me with
installation properly I will be thankful to you.

Hi
aruna,
r u sure that u got no other server
running on your system and listening to the same port.
or it can be that a thread is running in
the background
check the services
Hello All,
After changing the
classpath to include the servlet.jar and j2ee.jar I started tomcat using
-d option started apache and tried the http://127.0.0.1:8080/mydev/numguess.jsp
I am getting an error The connection was refused when connecting to http://127.0.0.1:8080. So I tried http://192.168.1.2:8080 after a long
pause I got a message the connection timed out. I am still getting
the error when I run the shutdown script on tomcat before the shutdown
of apache server.
I do not know what to do from here. I was wondering
if there are any Network changes or downloads to be
made. Should I use JWSDK instead of tomcat? All I am trying to do
is implement JSP that's all!!
PLEASE
HELP!!!!
Aruna
