Oggetto: how to display xls on web by servlet

Hello,
I have some figures plotted by excel with the file
fomate xls, like figure1.xls ....
How can i display them on the web if i am using
servlet and html. does it work if i use this
res.setContentType("application/ms.excel")?
so far what i did is to convert xls file to jpg first
then use servlet to display them. I think it costs
time.
Thanks in advance
bin
