Joseph, I'd say that the software isn't as important as the hardware you run it on. Regardless of the software you get, you won't be able to support that kind of traffic if your machine isn't powerful enough, has enough memory, or doesn't have a big enough connection to the Internet. The Yahoo sites are run on Pentium machines running Free BSD and Apache. In their case, they use many machines to distribute the load. I think you will find that all of the top tier server software (Weblogic, Websphere, iPlanet, Apache-Tomcat) will adequately serve your needs. You need to make sure you have enough horsepower and memory to run it on. What machine(s) are you running?
