Subject: applet/servlet
from my
intern...
Hello everyone,
I am a developer and right now I am working with applet
which is behind the fire wall. I am using Swing API to design the applet. I thought I could have all the swing files in
a jar file and put them in the archive for the applet, instead it only works
when the user has the latest java plug-in. But this can
create a problem in future for the users who don't have Java Plug-in installed
in their computer. Company policy won't
allow certain people to get the latest plug-in because they don't have
internet rights. So is there any other way that I can see my
applet successfully running in the browser with
out having the latest plug-in.
The applet is for a stock
channel which have a servlet that queries Reuters and then processes their xml
feed, then the servlet sends a string of data to the applet to display.
