I have a download page where when one clicks a button i redirect the page to a servlet
whose response content-type is "application/download".

What this does is that if the user clicks the button a "Save as Window" will appear
then the user can download the file.

My problem is that after downloading the file, the user is still in the download page.

What I would want to do is after the user downloads the file.. I would like to
redirect him automatically to a another page (Thank You Page, etc.)..

Can this be done?
Pls can you hep me with this. A sample code snippet wud be very useful.

Thanx and Regds.

Subject: Re: JSP vs Servlets

Both technologies are very similar, and JSP primarily extends the
Servlet API. Servlets are a pure Java method of generating/manipulating
HTTP requests and responses. JSP is a more markup friendly method of
generating HTTP responses. You tend to see JSP used for generating
HTML/XHTML/etc pages, and Servlets (more specifically servlet filters)
tend to be used for building more Java-intensive, low level
functionality, such as auto-compressing HTTP responses or tracking what
pages are most visited.

In general, you should not think that it is desirable to choose only one
of the two technologies to use. If you want to build a web application
with Java you will likely want to know both, especially since you'll
want to use things such as servlet filters to aid the markup generated
by JSP.
