Yep. I totally agree with you but this person presisted after he was told that it was not a 'productive' thing to do. That's when I suspected he was pulling our legs.
Jtest from Parasoft parses the Java class files but they have a commercial product that is producing revenue. It doesn't make sense in my opinion to create your own unit testing software just for in-house use.

well, I'm subscribed a few years now and this list seems to be a starting-point for quite a few people who are new to programming in general, I don't know why. call me naive (or arrogant :) but there are people who just don't know better and ask questions that seem stupid, I don't think that anyone asks stupid questions just to fool people willing to help... At least that't what I want to think.
Although, you can parse a Java class file and get the byte-code, but why do it?
